Spring has finally arrived – and so has the latest fLIP* magazine. The topic for the Spring Issue is ‘SIDEWAYS’, and my submission was taken from the a series of images called ‘HRT’. Hmmm, I spoilt it now, but - but can you guess what this is?
Hormone replacement Therapy (HRT) comes in different forms, and obviously not everyone is going to be introduced to its various options. So, what you are looking at are little plaster patches, that a woman during and post menopause can stick onto her side, either on the thigh or the hip. And there it sits for 3-4 days and releases both oestrogen and progestogen into the body. All for the better, said my gynocologist. But it came with sime SIDE-effects…
Ps: *fLIP is an independent magazine, which is published three times per year by the London Independent Photographers (LIP). It is available at specialized stores across London, including the Photographers Gallery, Tate Modern Bookshop, National Portrait Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery Bookshop...
