Time is passing by fast these days, suddenly it’s Summer. A very good reason for calling out for gatherings, parties and perfect company.
Thanks to my membership of the London Camera Club, we will present you with exactly that: our annual summer exhibition is just around the corner, and you are invited.
In less than 2 weeks, there will be around sixty images of our CC - members on display. Two of which will be from my archive, both taken whilst on an Artist Residency in St Louis, Senegal. One of them, the picture above, makes me smile every time I look at it. Some unexpected eyes are looking at me from the bottom of the picture. What is a goat doing in the wood workshop?
Did you know, in Senegalese society goats often hold a highly respected place. Many households keep them as treasured pets with free rein of the house, treating them as part of the family. However, they are most likely to be eaten at some point. But they have a good life until then…
So, let’s create a good life for ourselves. The Camera Club Summer Show opens on Monday, 8th June 2026, and the Public View is on Thursday, 11th June, from 7pm to 9pm. Nibbles and drinks will be served! No goats will be harmed!!!
Venue: Gallery 1885 at 'The Camera Club', 16 Bowden Street, London SE11 4DS. Near Kennington Tube
Gallery opening times: Monday to Friday, 11am – 9pm / Saturday & Sunday, 10am – 6pm
